LET’S GO FISHING!

2024 Season

Unfortunately, we are not able to guide this year due to injury.

Please check back in 2025.

WHAT WE FISH FOR

WALLEYE

Walleye are not native to Lake Roosevelt, they showed up in the 1950’s due to illegal stocking. Today they are plentiful, fun to catch, and very tasty too!

We fish for walleye all year.

STURGEON

For years, the Sturgeon population in Lake Roosevelt would not sufficiently support an active fishery. The first season for Sturgeon opened in 2017 and has continued yearly. Sturgeon are large and give one heck of a fight. They also have excellent table quality.

Sturgeon season historically starts around the second weekend of June each year and is opened as an emergency rule change with a slot (size) limit each year.

We encourage those wanting to fish for sturgeon to book between July and September. These dates fill up faster than the rest of the year, so don't delay in securing your date.

TROUT

Lake Roosevelt holds both native and hatchery raised rainbow trout. While native trout must be released, we have harvested some very nice sized hatchery triploids. These trout also have good table quality.

We typically fish for trout in the fall.

MEET YOUR CAPTAIN

Brandon Hatch

A LIFE ON THE WATER

BRANDON HATCH

captain

Brandon lives to be on the water. In fact rumor has it he was born with a fishing rod in his hand. When he caught his first salmon, unbeknownst to his parents, he took it out of the freezer and snuggled with it all night long. His mom found a defrosted fish in his bed the next morning.

Brandon spent his youth fishing along side his Father and Grandfather. Brandon’s passion in life is not only fishing, but also sharing his knowledge with others especially with kids, as they are our future.

As a teenager, Brandon and his father started a charter boat service in NW Washington state fishing in the Pacific Ocean. He also went to Coast Guard Merchant Mariner school as a young adult, but was not able to finish getting his Masters License at that time.

Fast forward 24 years, and in 2018, Brandon once again attended Coast Guard Merchant Mariner school and he was victorious and obtained his 25-ton near coastal Master’s License.

Brandon has worked tirelessly to acquire his guide boat, outfit it, and obtain all of the necessary permits and requirements to be able to once again share his love and knowledge of fishing.

GUARANTEE

I don’t guarantee that you will catch fish, no guide can make that promise. I will guarantee that I will give you the best chance to catch fish on the day that you are booked and I will do my best to ensure that you have fun while doing it. There are some guides that offer a “No fish, no pay” guarantee, but I do not. Let me explain why… Ask any guide you choose exactly what their “no fish, no pay” policy means, For some, it means if you catch a single fish they have met their guarantee. I won’t lie to you and tell you that we catch tons of fish every single day. Some days the fishing is hot and some days it just isn’t.

The bottom line is that guides that give free trips have increased their profits to the point that giving away trips does not hurt them like it does me. The cost of offering you an all day better trip costs me enough that I just can’t give away free trips if the fish stop biting.

Fortunately for you and me, not getting a single fish is the exception and not the rule. It does happen to every guide on the lake, whether they admit it or not.

So with that being said, here is what I can guarantee:

I guarantee I will take you to where I believe the fish are at, no matter how far we have to go. I will not put fuel usage concerns above your fishing.

I guarantee I will do everything that I know how to do to assist you in putting fish in the boat.

I guarantee I will do all the prep work ahead of time to get you actually fishing as soon as possible.

I guarantee your group will be the only group on the boat. I will never book multiple groups to fish at the same time.

I guarantee I will get your money’s worth when it comes to the amount of time spent on the water.

Your satisfaction is my goal. You becoming a repeat customer and referring me to your friends and family is my bread and butter and I strive to gain your referrals.

WHAT TO BRING

A note from the Skipper

The weather quite often will start out in the mid 40’s and reach the mid 90’s during summer months. Although that’s not an everyday rule it’s quite common. You might have a laugh at your captains attire when you first meet him, he’s often spotted sporting sweatpants, sandals w/ socks on!

All kidding aside, as mentioned below. Dress in layers and keep your shorts handy because it will start out cold and warm up quick!

FISHING LICENSE

Fishing licenses can be obtained at several local retailers or online. Fishing for sturgeon requires a catch record card, when purchasing your license online, allow at least 10 days to receive your catch record card by mail.

Licenses are NOT SOLD ON THE BOAT. Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife requires that guides scan each license before leaving the dock, please make sure that you have your licenses and catch record cards (sturgeon only) prior to boarding the boat.

FOOD & BEVERAGES

PROPER CLOTHING & SUN PROTECTION

Raincoats are a good thing to bring in case of rain and sunscreen in case of sun. Weather related cancellations will generally only be caused by close lightening or high winds.
